Why blue marbles?
In our first home, my husband Peter and I unearthed blue marbles while laying a paver patio in the backyard. Several years later in our current house, we found more blue marbles- only blue!- while remodeling the interior. They are my lucky charms.
Julie lives with her family in the Lynnhurst neighborhood of Minneapolis and loves rescuing old homes, including her own. Her first career was in corporate banking at US Bancorp. An interest in architecture and commitment to historic preservation were rekindled after she and her husband did a major renovation of their own home. In 2010 she invested in her first renovation project and blue marbles was born.
From 2010 to 2017, the house flipping market was very solid for blue marbles. As that side of the business waned, design projects began coming in through referrals. In 2017, Julie joined Hanson Remodeling as a full-time designer where she designed over $1.4 million in projects ranging from kitchens, baths, master suites, basements, porches, and garages. In the spring of 2019 she decided to return to blue marbles and focus on freelance design for her own clients.
Thanks for your interest in blue marbles renovation. Let’s talk!
