Hiring a designer for your remodel project will save you time and money in the long run. Below is a guide to my process. Some clients engage only through the Plan Development stage, then work with their trusted contractor. Or I can take you through material selections and beyond. It’s up to you.
During this complimentary meeting we will discuss your vision for the project. We will walk through your home, explore ideas and determine what level of design assistance you may need to get the project done. A signed design agreement and small retainer allows us to move into the design phase.
Measurements will be taken and initial concept plans are developed. Once a plan is dialed in, a set of final plans is created including elevations, site plans and 3D rendering.
Material and Product Selections
Cabinets, countertops, tile, flooring, hardware, plumbing, windows… all the details are covered in this important step. I’ll provide samples of items and we may also visit showrooms. All selections will be documented in a detailed Material Schedule.
At this point you are ready to present the design package to your builder. If needed, I can refer qualified general contractors appropriate for the project.
During the construction phase, you can retain me to manage material ordering and scheduling. I am always available for assistance during this time.
